DNC Suggests Gorsuch's Critiques Are Meaningless 'Ruse' To Not Look Like a Trump Shill

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) seems to believe that Judge Neil Gorsuchs recent remarks are all part of a plan to disguise how much of stooge he will be for President Trump on the Supreme Court.
In a private conversation that was confirmed by Gorsuchs spokesman, the SCOTUS nominee said he was dismayed that Trump recently attacked the legitimacy of the federal judge who put a temporary block on the presidents executive order to restrict immigration from several Muslim nations. Trump, for his part, got on Twitter this morning to deny that Gorsuch criticized him, while also attacking CNNs Chris Cuomo for spreading fake news.
As for the DNC, they found it suspicious that Gorsuchs remarks were made in private, and they believe that the latest developments are a ruse concocted by Trump Senior Adviser Steve Bannon and other White House staff:

however. i am naive clearly, but not even close to as naive as the average consumer of news. so these quotes in my opinion do serve to help the average listener realize that trump's attacking of the courts in the immigration ban case is beyond the pale. maybe it's done to help ease the guy into the SCOTUS. but the people don't get to decide that.
the fact he said it will certainly not keep me from letting my lawmakers know he should not be confirmed.

(19,564 posts)The only real question here would be is Trump aware of that? I wonder at times how much they actually tell him about the nuts and bolts of the daily grind?

(22,651 posts)off the record is meaningless. Find out what Republicans put him forward into trumps face.
None of trumps Admin. except a couple of his campaign deplorable were people he personally "knew" or worked with. Including that 'list of bush-era generals', and the earlier list of SC people. Republicans placed those names on trumps table.

When judging the candidate for an office, that person's past RECORD is what is all- important, NOT how brilliant they are, and NOT their promises. There have been brilliant con-men and promises are not qualifications. If they have no record, then they should get one by starting at the bottom by applying for the lowest offices first, and certainly ones requiring serving the public.
