KMart and Sears have joined the parade of retailers and celebrities cutting their ties with the Trump family brand in recent weeks.
Business Insider reported that the two companies are no longer offering items from the Trump Home collection on their websites.
As part of the companys initiative to optimize its online product assortment, we constantly refine that assortment to focus on our most profitable items, a Sears Holdings spokesperson said to Business Insider. Amid that streamlining effort, 31 Trump Home items were among the items removed online this week. Products from the line are still offered online via third-party Marketplace vendors.
Shannon Coulter a co-founder of the #GrabYourWallet movement to boycott Trumps companies said on Friday that early in the week, Sears and Kmart were offering Trump Home products, but now they have disappeared from the companies websites.

(88 posts)It was Kmart that bought Sears. And then the Eddie Lempert machine bought Lands' End and put it in Sears in an attempt to jazz things up. It was only after Kmart bought Sears that Lempert changed the name to Sears Holdings, again in an attempt to distance from the Kmart brand. He even ordered that the Kmart stock numbers, etc., be used at Sears stores, which caused a great deal of unnecessary confusion and work.
Just want people to know that Sears didn't buy Kmart, Kmart bought Sears. And Lempert has driven them both into the ground.

(88 posts)It still shocks me that Lands' End sold out. At first, the quality stayed the same, but slowly the quality and number of products decreased. I have no idea what it's like now, but 6 years ago it wasn't great. It still seems weird to see Lands' End in Sears stores.

(10,252 posts)The Trump brand is poison, and not just because of politics, although politics is part of it. People don't like Trump PERSONALLY. They don't like his constant ego preening, vindictive pettiness, incompetence, bullying, lies, divisiveness, and so much more.

(11,625 posts)Bit by bit, too, which is fine considering he has only been in office a short time. Soon there will be no more retail Trump products at all.
He should have sold those businesses off before they started flat-lining.
Next up hopefully his hotels and golf memberships take an enormous hit, too, save for those looking to stay and curry favor with the (not my) president, and let's push to get him impeached for his obvious pay-for-play.
FYI (re: your last line)Trump home products are not from Ivanka's line I don't think. Her line is suffering big time, too.

(10,419 posts)My first thought then was that if you had to hammer home that your projects were "classy" it meant they had to be "cheesy".
Sears and K-Mart had their market niche, but "classy"? And they dumped DT's "classy" product lines.
I haven't been able to finish reading my latest novel because this crap is so much more entertaining.

(67 posts)Although the K-Mart in my town folded like tent long ago, I've done business to the tune of thousands of dollars with Sears over the years. I was intending to boycott Sears for their supporting the Trump family, but it looks like I'll have to wait and see exactly what they do. Now, if they would just OPEN at a more reasonable time in the morning like all their competition does. Even their automotive department isn't keeping pace with their competitors, opening at 8 AM. Car dealerships are open at 7 for work and parts.

(1,979 posts)The people know that he LIED about disconnecting from his business conflict of interests and so the PEOPLE are "helping" him to disconnect from his brand LOL. From what I have read, that is pretty much all he has going on over the past few years - selling his name, or brand. Now that "brand" is poison. It won't make a difference whether he put his businesses into a blind trust and/or that his children are running it for him - the PEOPLE will make sure that he will not profit from it.
The buildings with his name on them (or even if they take his name off them, the information is instant now) will soon be the focus of the resistance.
The PEOPLE's voice WILL be heard!!!
I've been so despondent since November, but my fellow Americans - the Americans who want this country to stand as a beacon of light, liberty and hope for a better life, are doing what NO congressperson can do and we are doing it peacefully and forcefully with ONE voice.
The Democrats who represent us had better be taking notes and seeing that they have an opportunity NOW - to step through their fear and know that as their spine grows, the PEOPLE will surround them and help them to right these terrible wrongs. They can make history just like the PEOPLE are right this minute, making history.
This is AMERICA, land of the FREE and home of the BRAVE. I'm proud of us today.

(7 posts)Sears/Kmart is one of the worst run businesses in history. I remember analyzing this in an exam for IT project management years ago. They are incompetent.
Maybe this will boost their sales!!
Honestly, I'm confused why he even has a product line, who the heck would even want it?
One thing I gotta say, he keeps me entertained . There isn't a day that goes by that he doesn't do something that keeps me entertained.
