A senior U.S. Senate Republican said on Tuesday that the resignation of President Donald Trumps national security adviser, Michael Flynn, would add momentum to congressional investigation of Russias involvement in the 2016 U.S. election.

(7,300 posts)I imagine that no matter what the Senate or House leadership says, the IC is very busy right now and won't stop until this administration is in ruins. What's really freaking out the GOPee is they are powerless to stop it. The IC is beyond their control. Rats are jumping ship as I type.

(4,066 posts)They've already set up the narrative that Flynn lied to Pence. This leaves the lingering question of "What did the President know and when did he know it?"
Now, they can tie 45 to Flynn's actions and impeach him. Presto, President Pence - the one they really wanted anyway.
Just my conspiracy theory.

(13,040 posts)"What did the President know and when did he know it?" << That about summarizes it. This was the tip of the iceberg & is exactly what got Nixon into trouble. In the Flynn case, it is watergate all over again, only on a much bigger scale.
