This is really unprecedented: ICE detains woman seeking domestic abuse protection at Tex. courthouse

A hearing in El Paso County in Texas went from ordinary to unprecedented last week when half a dozen Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents showed up at a courthouse where an undocumented woman was seeking a protective order against the boyfriend she accused of abusing her.

The woman, a citizen of Mexico who was living in El Paso had been driven to the courthouse by a victims advocate from the Center Against Sexual and Family Violence, a shelter for victims of domestic abuse where she had been living.

...

It was the first time in her 23 years at the courthouse, Bernal said, that she can remember ICE agents making their presence known during a protective order hearing. The agents had come to stake out the woman, identified by her initials I.E.G., because, Bernal speculates, they likely received a tip from the only other person who knew the time and place of the hearing the womans alleged abuser.

According to Susan Sarandon, immigrants caught up in the ICE raids, like this woman, are acceptable collateral damage on the way to the glorious revolution.

In all seriousness, this is a catastrophe. Drumpf and law enforcement are forcing undocumented immigrants and their children and friends into the shadows. Good luck policing any areas with (legal or illegal) immigrant populations.

time for pursuing a woman seeking protection of the court. It appears that the abuser knows the express telephone number into the ICE to get action. A "cute" setup. This guy gets a Mexican woman to live with him, abuses her, and then uses the ICE to arrest her and toss her back to Mexico. He knows how to pull the strings, as well as if he were an ICE employee.

Criminal gangs have a tendency to have weapons and they are known to shoot people!

It's so much easier to nab parents picking up their children at schools and people coming out of church!

We need to put humanity and decency above fear and sub-human status.

That's how a society is judged, and we definitely hate what we are becoming.
