Sanders: Trump a 'pathological liar'
Source: MSN/The Hill
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) hit President Trump on Saturday for his frequent attacks on the news media, calling the president a "pathological liar."
"In Trump's view people should ignore all the news except what comes directly from him. That is what totalitarianism is all about. Good thing we have Donald Trump, a pathological liar, to tell us the 'truth,'" Sanders wrote in a series of tweets.
Sanders' message appeared to be in response to tweets by the president Friday night that called news outlets "the enemy of the American people."
Trump has frequently hit news outlets for "fake news" and has been the subject of backlash for his numerous tweets against CNN, The New York Times and other news groups.

(49,001 posts)tRump doesn't even know he is lying half the time he lies and the other half the time he thinks he is just exaggerating the truth a little.
Like when he said he had had the biggest Electoral College victory since Reagan, it was a lie: there were five other bigger wins including four wins by Democrats. So then when called on it, tRump said he meant "by a Republican". If he had meant that he would have said so, but it was still a lie: GHW Bush won more bigly.
He lies so frequently that he forgets what he lied and double-crosses himself to a different audience. But some of that is knowingly and on purpose.
He said to UK PM May's face, on camera, recorded, in front of the press, that he was behind NATO "100%". And then later wavers and equivocates and sends Mattis and Pence out to shake down NATO leaders for money, using threats.

(22,912 posts)Bernie Sanders on Sunday slammed Donald Trump as a pathological liar who is inciting violence as Sanders kicked off a town hall duel with Hillary Clinton.
I hesitate to say this because I really dont like to disparage public officials, but Donald Trump is a pathological liar, Sanders said, in the first exchange of the event at Ohio State University hosted by CNN and TV One.
Sanders also blasted Trump for saying that he might pay the legal fees of a man charged with punching a protester at one of his rallies, adding that doing so was tantamount to inciting violence.
I would hope Mr. Trump tones it down big time and tells his supporters that violence is not acceptable in the American political process, Sanders said.

(22,912 posts)To those who falsely claim that Bernie is playing "catch up" here in attacking Trump, or that he was slow to figure this out, he's said this frequently for a long time. Here is coverage of him saying so almost a year ago, on March 13, 2016:

(5,801 posts)as often as possible, especially in light of the media's reluctance to call dump out on his lies (although there are notable and good exceptions, more of them as time goes by) and dump's efforts to de-legitimize criticism. And, dump's behavior since the installation, which makes it clear he has no interest in being truthful but instead intends to lie and spin however long he is in office.
The information about dump being a pathological liar was out there well before the election, from interviews with the guy who co-wrote Art of the Deal, David Cay Johnston's biography of dump, long-time NY journalists, etc. etc. etc.
