PARIS (AP) — Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo has pushed back at U.S. President Donald Trump for insulting the City of Light in a speech.

Trump evoked his friend Jim, "a very, very substantial guy," in an address Friday at the Conservative political Action Conference. Jim used to be a regular visitor to Paris, Trump said, but hasn't made the trip in four or five years because "Paris is no longer Paris."

Hidalgo tweeted a photo of herself alongside Mickey Mouse and Minnie and said: "To Donald and his friend Jim, from the Eiffel Tower, we're celebrating the attractiveness of Paris with Mickey and Minnie."

In another tweet, with the hashtag #Donald&Jim, Hidalgo said American tourist reservations are up 30 percent in 2017 so far compared to last year.

1. Remind me of when Rethugs were yelling "nuke Paris" due to France's opposition to the Iraq War.

Much more in ripple effects.

And 6.8% is just a start, as more and more immigration / border / ICE / DHS nastiness prevails and is publicized around the world.

But for heaven's sake, insulting Paris? Really? Is there no foreign place that Trump won't insult? That man gets worse every single day. We're going to have to send an apology card and flowers to the entire world before we're through with him.

Wouldn't it be easier to get tRump out of the WH? He is an embarasment, crude and vile. He is down in Florida AGAIN, splashing taxpayer money around to enrich himself. He has to be impeached, while there is still money left in the treasury.

but I don't think that it will be easy to do. The Republicans will stonewall any serious investigation, and won't stage impeachment hearings. Our only chance is if there is enough pressure to appoint someone independent to investigate him.
