Trump mulling immigration bill with pathway to legal status: CNN

Source: Reuters

28 FEB 2017 AT 15:14 ET

President Donald Trump is considering introducing legislation to provide a pathway to legal status, but not immediately to citizenship, for illegal immigrants in the United States, CNN reported on Tuesday, citing a senior White House official.

CNN said the president thinks a comprehensive immigration bill that would allow illegal immigrants to hold a job and require them to pay taxes has a chance of clearing Congress, and it said Trump may refer to the idea of legislation in a speech on Tuesday night.

Glad of it, but how cliché: the bully that turns tail when someone punches back.

Most bullies expect their victims to passively "take it". They really don't know what to do when the victim decides to punch back harder.

A little "Only Nixon could go to China"?

Or - why would we believe a damn thing coming out of his mouth and this administration!

When you tell your constituents these illegals are murderers, criminals, rapists and drug dealers who have taken your jobs, let's let them stay here working?

I hope no one in Washington believes this line of crap for one second!

So ICE will be called off, the Alabama strawberry farmers will get their Mexicans back, and they'll continue to vote reliably Republican. They'll just click their two ruby red slippers, whisper "there's no place like home," and it will be like the last two months never happened.

These jobs have been filled by various groups in our history ...
slaves, women, children, German, Irish, Italian, Poles, Mexicans, Eastern Europeans ...
Last half of the 1800s, women and children filled the factories.

Maybe he figured out lawn mowing, dishwashing, construction jobs can't be filled
with Americans when unemployment, from Obama's economy, is at 4.5%.

Or that those being deported are also consumers. You want economic contraction,
reduce the population of consumers.

So dimwit has no choice but to steal Obama's ideas and programs. Be interesting to
see if his base has any principles or spine, or if Idolatry is their only thrill.

I've been wondering how Trump will react if there is a Democratic wave that takes both the House and the Senate. I could actually see him flipping 180 degrees as he has no real ideology and is led around by his nose. Of course, this predicated on the fact we are the same country in two years.
