Dispatcher fired over Trump wants $250,000 settlement

LA CROSSE, Wis. (AP) — A University of Wisconsin-La Crosse police dispatcher who says she was fired for supporting President Donald Trump's travel ban wants a six-figure settlement.

UW-L Chancellor Joe Gow told The La Crosse Tribune(http://bit.ly/2mN3G7P ) that Kimberly Dearman wants a $250,000 settlement. Her attorney, Lee Fehr, told the newspaper that she's winning in the court of public opinion. Gow says the school won't pay.

Dearman was fired earlier this month for using unbecoming and threatening language with an Asian trainee. According to investigators, she told the trainee the travel ban would protect the U.S. and immigrants should go home.

Gow said Dearman wasn't fired for her opinions, even though he sent a university-wide email in January rebuking the ban. Gow offered Dearman her job back last week because she didn't get a hearing.

So, they don't even need a reason to terminate. Seems odd they would offer the job back.

cover her actions, so they need to follow their standard internal administrative procedures if they want to be able to get the lawsuit against them dismissed. Or perhaps another policy altogether, like protecting political speech. That's my guess.

Inability to get fair reviews and proper training from the woman because she is a known racist.

So they don't really want to hire the racist back.

She's a legal nightmare and a POS.
