White House signals it can live without border wall funds

Source: The Hill

The White House indicated Wednesday that President Trump could go along with a government funding bill that does not include money to begin building his proposed wall at the U.S.-Mexico border.

Senate Republicans are not planning on including the funds in a measure to keep the government funded beyond the end of April.

“That is our request,” press secretary Sean Spicer said Wednesday when asked if the wall funding is a deal-breaker for a must-pass spending bill. “We will continue to work with Congress on the rest of the [fiscal 2017] budget,” he said.

Trump requested $1.5 billion from lawmakers this year to begin work on the wall he wants to build along the southern border, a central pillar of his campaign promise to crack down on illegal immigration.

at the beginning of NAFTA. Put wages in Mexico for the production of all NAFTA items on an escalator to match US wages in 10 years. That would give the poor hope for a good life in Mexico. And, in 10 years, our biggest problem would be waves of rich Mexican students vacationing in USA and acting boorishly.

Build the wall. Lock her up. Repeal and replace. Pro-life. These were all just slogans to appeal to his base, pure demagoguery. I don't think he gives a damn about any of these.

Cut business regulation, repeal banking controls, cut taxes. These are issues near and dear to his heart (or his wallet). These he will fight for.

Made no attempt to fight for it in any way. Just a strategy to get elected.

Remember, Donald is not responsible for anything.
