Pelosi: 'Sean Spicer Must Be Fired'

Following White House press secretary Sean Spicers comparison of Syrian President Bashar Assad and German Chancellor Adolf Hitler, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) called for Spicer to be fired.
While Jewish families across America celebrate Passover, the chief spokesman of this White House is downplaying the horror of the Holocaust, Pelosi said in a statement Tuesday.
Sean Spicer must be fired, and the President must immediately disavow his spokesmans statements, she continued. Either he is speaking for the President, or the President should have known better than to hire him.
During his daily press briefing Tuesday, Spicer said that, in contrast to Assads alleged use of chemical weapons last week, you had someone as despicable as Hitler, who didn't even sink to using chemical weapons.

(18,672 posts)I'm going to get a bit gross here, but it's still better than what we get from these people every. Single. Fucking. Day:
Shit is nasty. Explosive diarrhea is "deplorable". If you think the rest of the reality-based community on planet earth is smiling at your self-described "deplorable" status, you are a fucking idiot. Today Sean Spicer has demonstrated exactly how they think. Anyone who excuses what Hitler did to make a point is explosive diarrhea all over some seedy gas station's bathroom walls. I'm so completely over these assholes.

(10,252 posts)wholesale industrialized murder with chemical gas? Hellooo? Everyone working in the White House these days is a complete embarrassment. Absolutely non-virtuous.

(10,252 posts)Ya know a liberal education where you learn about the classical Greek virtures (arete) of wisdom, moderation, courage, and justice. Not something the fools in the White House seem to value much.

There's a video clip from his statement on CNN and he sounds like he was a bad boy who had to write "I will not talk in class" on the blackboard about a thousand times!

(27,677 posts)before catching himself? He's backpedaling, trying to find a distinction that would justify his earlier remark.
"I think when you come to sarin gas... he was not using the gas on his own people the same way that Assad is doing," he said. "He brought them into the Holocaust center, I understand that. But I was saying that in the way that Assad used them, where he went into towns, dropped them down into innocent into the middle of towns."

(62,423 posts)there is a chance that he may never even hear there was a flap.
Even if he did it would probably be painted in a light that that Spicer did nothing wrong.
It will be interesting to see if Trumpy will respond and what he will say.

(4,558 posts)Personally, if I was in a position of Democratic Party leadership, the statement I'd make would be more along the lines of: "Sean Spicer's comments and ignorance of the holocaust so aptly reflect the ignorance that permeates the Trump presidency. Trump made the perfect choice in his selection for White House Press Secretary."
1. Trump is a man-child. Someone from the "opposition" tells him to do something, he will dig in his heels, and redirect.
2. My statement ties Rump to the negativity. Rumpus hates that. Ordering him to fire spicey.. regardless of if he does or doesn't separates him from shitty spice in Rump's eyes.
3. Rumpus sees Pelosi and all Democratic Party leadership as "enemies". He will not tolerate one of our leaders in any way shape or form suggesting anything he's decided as being a "perfect choice".
