First Republican raises impeachment for Trump
Source: The Hill

Rep. Justin Amash (R-Mich.) on Wednesday said reports that President Trump pressed ousted FBI Director James Comey to end an investigation would merit impeachment if true, becoming the first Republican lawmaker to broach the idea.
The New York Times on Tuesday reported that Trump tried to pressure Comey to stop investigating former national security adviser Michael Flynn, citing a memo written by Comey.
Asked by The Hill if the details in the memo would merit impeachment if they're true, Amash replied: "Yes. But everybody gets a fair trial in this country," Amash added as he left a House GOP conference meeting.
Asked by another reporter whether he trusted Comey's word or Trump's, Amash said: "I think it's pretty clear I have more confidence in Director Comey."

CYA mood right now.
How did McConnell know if he waited until after the election he would have
somebody else to vote for for SCOTUS?

Paul Ryan & Republican Establishment Used Hacked Info From Russia Against Democrats:
Let's not forget that a super PAC tied to Paul Ryan used material provided by Russia's hacking of the DNC and DCCC.
It was known that Russia had stolen material from the DNC and DCCC and a Paul Ryan Super PAC and as well as other Republican groups used it.
It wasn't just Hillary Clinton being attacked. It wasn't just Trump benefiting. There's potentially more collusion than just that between Trump's team and Russia.

Not to mention the various other voter suppression techniques they are so good at. And issues with voting machines. I also believe that McConnell knew he had the election in the bag and that is why he wouldn't give Garland a chance.

(27,797 posts)I wonder if the FBI ever investigated the fact that:
"a super PAC tied to Paul Ryan used material provided by Russia's hacking of the DNC & DCCC"?
(When James Comey testifies, he should be asked about this, imo)

(34,376 posts)isn't just an "Independent Republican." He's a right wing nut case pseudo-Libertarian of the Ron Paul ilk who would be just fine with the elimination of such departments & offices like the EPA, USDA, FDA because "the market" would correct any problems caused by poisoning people with tainted meat & bad drugs, poisoned groundwater, soil, & air. He was against the first AHCA because it wasn't mean-spirited enough, but voted for the second version that took all of the pre-existing conditions, lifetime caps, and essential services protections. He wants a complete "hands off" policy where money is concerned, but has no problem telling women what to do with our bodies, so he gets no kudos from me. BTW, Mike Bishop, my current "rep" is just an asshole GOP lackey.
