"Making a Murderer": Avery's attorney files 1,272 page post-conviction notice

MANITOWOC, Wis. (WBAY)- Steven Avery's attorney has filed a 1,000 page notice for post-conviction relief in Manitowoc County, Action 2 News has learned.

Avery is serving a life sentence for the Halloween 2005 murder of freelance photographer Theresa Halbach. The case became an international sensation after the docu-series "Making A Murderer" premiered on Netflix. Filmmakers presented the possibility that Avery and his nephew Brendan Dassey were wrongfully convicted.

On Wednesday, Zellner's former client Ryan Ferguson tweeted, "The reckoning has come! @Zellner files a bombshell post-conviction petition in the #stevenavery case." Zellner helped free Ferguson after her spent 10 years in prison for a murder he did not commit.

I think the woman's ex-boyfriend murdered her.

He was in the documentary during the "search" for her and was way too shifty eyed. And what the DA did to entrap the younger kid, a cousin I think was even worst.

That does this 1000-page document exactly mean for him legally?

Helped by the brother -- phone and voicemail tampering they ADMITTED to, sketchy other stuff, and nothing.

Avery isn't a "clean" victim like Amanda Knox, but the case against him is as dirty and fucked up as the one against KNox, if not even more so.

You are wrong. Your cohorts are wrong.

I have no agenda other than that as a scientist. Her blood was found on his garage deep in a crack on a bullet. Bullet was from his gun. Fucker dipped a cat in gasoline and for torched it for fun. He admitted to buying leg irons. Fucker is guilty. Cops probably screwed with some evidence to make it stronger, but he did it.

Avery is an animal abuser and a psycho

Convicted on two very different tales.

Hope you like hugging up to people with vendettas.

and unimaginable. That said, Steven Avery admitted to that crime, and paid the consequences years ago. That does not make him guilty of the murder of Teresa Halbach. That kind of reasoning led to the false conviction of Steven Avery for a rape he did not commit. He was exonerated of that crime after serving years in prison.

In addition, Brendan Dassey, the nephew of Steven Avery, has never been accused of animal abuse.

Kathleen Zellner's 1,272 page brief throws serious doubt on much of the prosecution's case.

I watched it, and watched HIM carefully, could not come to any conclusions, but there was an awful bunch of circumstantial evidence. Problem was, the county DA and Sheriff dept. screwed up and muddied some of the case.
Interesting mystery.

sub-reddits about the cases of both Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey.

My favorite is Tick Tock Manitowoc, which supports Avery and Dassey and is hopeful they will be exonerated and the corruption of the prosecutors and investigators exposed.

200 pages of Kathleen Zellner's brief are available for viewing on several of the Reddit subreddits, including Tick Tock Manitowoc, Making a Murderer, and Steven Avery is Guilty.

When I need a break from Politics, I check out what is going on with this most incredible case.
