NSA director frustrated Trump won't accept Russia interfered in election: report

Source: The Hill

National Security Agency (NSA) Director Mike Rogers is frustrated that he has not yet convinced President Trump that U.S. intelligence indicates Russia interfered in the 2016 presidential election, CNN reported Wednesday.

Rogers vented frustration over his fruitless efforts to lawmakers during a recent closed-door briefing on Capitol Hill, a congressional source familiar with the meeting told the news network.

The NSA director also reportedly said the White House lacked focus about the continued threat of the Kremlin's cyber efforts, especially regarding voting systems in the U.S., another congressional source said.

The intelligence community continues to brief the president on new information on Russia's election involvement as it comes to light.

An intelligence official told CNN that while Trump does not seem less engaged when being briefed on the matter, he has expressed frustration outside of the briefings that too much attention is being paid to the ongoing probe into Russia's interference in the election.

Russian interference to his benefit, whether he had knowledge of it, was directly involved or neither, means his election is illegitimate. That's something the orange snowflake cannot and will not accept no matter what. Country be damned. Then again, if he was directly involved or at least knowledgeable of what happened, he may know more the of real story than Rogers or anyone else in government outside of Mueller and his investigators. Just like a grade school kid who won't admit he got into the cookie jar even though there's a crumbs all over his mouth and a half eaten cookie in his hand. "Cookies? What cookies? I don't know what you're talking about. Can we talk about something else?"

"But the President's muted interest in election interference stands in stark contrast to the collusion investigation, which has consumed his attention. Trump takes questions about Russia personally, sources said, because he sees them as an effort to undermine the legitimacy of his presidency.
'He thinks one equates with the other," one Republican congressional source said. "He can't admit anything that may taint his election. He is more hung up on how it affected the election outcome than what Russia did.'"

It appears the president is incapable of separating one from the other. He is incapable of critical thought.

and admit the fact that Russia interfered in the election and then on national television ask Congress to investigate it as well as ask them to investigate ways to prevent it.
