Senate ignores Trump, moves bill that keeps FAA intact

Source: Washington Post

By Ashley Halsey III June 29 at 10:50 AM

The Senate on Thursday ignored President Trump’s desire to lop more than 30,000 workers from the federal payroll, approving legislation that protects the Federal Aviation Administration from being split in two.

Trump endorsed with great fanfare this month a House plan to spin off air traffic controllers and close 20,000 other workers into a nonprofit private corporation. Flanked by several former secretaries of transportation at a White House ceremony, Trump said: “The previous administration spent over $7 billion trying to upgrade the system and totally failed. Honestly, they didn’t know what the hell they were doing, a total waste of money.”

But an increasingly independent Senate, emboldened by Trump’s legislative failures, opted to disregard the White House push to privatize the controllers and those working on modernizing the aviation system.

When THEIR azzzz is on the line with some idiot sub-contractor ATC guy they don't want to take the chance of DIEING. When it's everyone else needing the ACA they're wanting to dump it in a heart beat.

This guy pulls out every globalist trick in the book, yet his chumps cling to the belief that he's serving their long term interests.

18. There is a related House bill but the Senate just "said" it will be voted down.

House was told via the the announcement in the OP. such a bill will not pass Senate, where there is a tiny Repub. margin.

Trump had a picture taken of him signing ...a memo...of intent to ask Congress for approval of the idea.
Seriously, a pic today of him signing a memo at the desk, surrounded by various functionaries.
He has not sent any actual legislation to Congress, been using Exec. Orders, some of which may not be even legal.

They don't want a load of third rate HACKS running the air traffic control. When THEY might DIE they have NO problem ignoring Trump. When it's the rest of us with health care they trip all over themselves to throw it in the dumpster.

Republican Senators will vote for anything that increases the misery of the common man, or enriches their donors. BUT: when it comes down to their own personal convenience, well, THAT'S where they draw the line.

Fifty thousand children in their state go hungry? Tough. That's God's will.

They get home two hours later for July 4th weekend due to air traffic complications? ARE YOU SHITTIN' ME? THAT'S KOMMANISM!! No way anything like that is passing MY committee, nosiree!
