Trump: Congress wouldn't 'dare' leave without 'beautiful' healthcare bill

Source: The Hill

BY JACQUELINE THOMSEN - 07/10/17 07:29 AM EDT

President Trump said early Monday that he did not expect Congress to leave for its summer recess without approving a "beautiful" new healthcare bill.

“I cannot imagine that Congress would dare to leave Washington without a beautiful new HealthCare bill fully approved and ready to go!” Trump tweeted.

Legislation to repeal and replace ObamaCare is currently stalled in the Senate as GOP leaderships works on a new version of the bill. The first draft of the legislation was rejected by several Republican senators, forcing Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) to delay a vote on the measure initially scheduled for the end of June.

GOP leaders are now debating a proposal from Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) that many have called a non-starter. His measure would permit insurance companies to sell any kind of coverage as long as they include at least one option that falls under the regulatory requirements of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Republican leaders said they’re considering scrapping the August recess to wrap up work on the bill to repeal and replace ObamaCare and move forward with other priorities on their legislative agenda, like tax reform and passing a budget.

Sure, the bill has 12% approval-rating and there aren't enough votes in the Senate to pass ist. But Congress better pass this bill or else!

He uses the adjective "beautiful" in the oddest contexts. The worst was referring to the "beautiful dead babies" in Syria. The man's command of the English language is pathetic or as he would say, "a disaster".

I'm also finding that I've had enough of "bombshell" and "melt-down."

If a few dozen 'bombshells' hit a target, and the target is pretty much fine (at least for now) can we really call them 'bombshells'?

I saw yet another article today about the White House is in "meltdown". This seems to be every other day, but we don't see any indications that it is true.

No, Little Boots, Congress is going to leave Washington next month regardless of what they have done. They always have before.
