Comeys Writing a Book, and Publishers Are Eager to Pay Big Money for It

James B. Comey, the former F.B.I. director who was fired in May by President Trump, is writing a book about his experience in public service, including his tumultuous and brief tenure in the Trump administration.

Mr. Comey has been meeting with editors and publishers in New York in recent days, and is being represented by Keith Urbahn and Matt Latimer, partners at the literary agency Javelin. The book is expected to go to auction this coming week, and all the major publishing houses have expressed keen interest, Mr. Latimer said.

The book will not be a conventional tell-all memoir, but an exploration of the principles that have guided Mr. Comey through some of the most challenging moments of his legal career. Among those are his investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server during a contentious election, and his recent entanglement with the president over the F.B.I.’s inquiry into Russia’s interference in the 2016 election.

“It’s a book about leadership and his search for truth, informed by lessons and experiences he’s had throughout his career, including his recent experiences in the Trump administration,” said Mr. Latimer, whose agency also represents Tucker Carlson and Donna Brazile. “It will speak to a broader desire in our country for more ethical leadership.”

6. He wasn't the one who went public ... that's BS ...

He reported in writing to Congress the discovery of addt'l potentially relevant emails related to the Clinton server investigation, as he was legally required to do per a previous agreement with Congress. He didn't really have a choice, he was completely 'damned if he did damned if he didn't'. Personally I'm convinced that Repub operatives in the FBI would've ratted him out had he failed to do report to Congress as he had agreed, and it would've looked WORSE for Hill if that had happened.

It was the Repukes in Congress (Chaffetz for example) that took the shit 'public' and then the stupid F'ing MSM who blew it of proportion with their 're-opening the investigation' bullshit stories. The investigation was never formally re-opened but they REPEATEDLY said it was, and I've seen people even here parrot that line.

I'm no huge Comey fan but he acted with integrity given the situation and I don't know the mans 'heart' so I don't feel qualified to claim he did what he did maliciously, nor to screw over Hillary and get Trump elected.

All I ever heard about is repuke congress critters pressuring Comey to spill any information he had on Hillary and he caved to their pressure. Please enlighten us as to the "Legally Required" part if it exists.

IMO Comey was a chicken-shit for caving to repuke pressure and acted unethically in giving out information concerning an ongoing investigation.

19. He made that statement for two reasons

Under oath, when testifying before Congress, he said if anything changed he would let them know. What prompted that statement was he was obligated to make it or risk being held in contempt of Congress for not doing so. The new information was just reported to him and that came from a NY prosecutor's office (I believe that is correct) informing him they were separately investigating Weiner's activities, and in that process uncovered child sex trafficking. Some of the emails the NY office uncovered were, according to them, relevant to the DC FBI investigation and they thought they should share that information. They also said they would give him two weeks to start arresting people, and if he did not do so, the NY prosecutor would make a public announcement and start charging people up there. They were just that upset over the information (and pictures) they had discovered.

You might want to look at that up. The ethical and legal high ground lay in following well established procedures based on long established principles, which he abandoned.

The history before this of this particular conservative Republican is far from clean, btw. It is documented that Comey argued for using the power of the Justice Department to harass/persecute the Clintons long ago. Even though investigation had found nothing to indict Bill on, Comey wanted to continue anyway, to blow some more smoke and flash some more mirrors--much, in fact, as he later did with the phony email scandal, dragging out an investigation into a phony scandal with no crimes right up into the final months of the election.
