Paul: GOPers 'Have No Earthly Idea' Of Repeal Bill They'll Vote On Tomorrow

Source: Talking Points Memo

By ESME CRIBB Published JULY 24, 2017 4:57 PM

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) on Monday said Republican senators have no idea what Obamacare repeal bill they’ll be voting on Tuesday at Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s (R-KY) request.

“Senator, what is up for a vote tomorrow? Could you update me?” Fox News’ Neil Cavuto asked.

“I thought you were going to tell me,” Paul replied. “I thought I was coming on air for you to tell me.”

Paul said Republican senators are completely in the dark about what measure they’ll cast on-record votes for or against on Tuesday. “We have no earthly idea what we will be voting on tomorrow other than that it’ll be moving to the House bill, but everybody knows it’s not really going to be the House bill,” Paul said.

That was his first strategy too, by writing the whole thing in secret.

It's like they are con artists trying to get the marks to play along.

You're an IDIOT and you're ceding your constituents very lives way to cheaply.

What kind of friggin moron signs onto a life changing legal document without READING it first? Apparently some of the 'Wrong Way' Right kind.

who sleep safe and sound every night.

Meanwhile I can't sleep due to my own health and financial situations. I called 16 senators today, crying to 4 of their staffers who actually did answer the phones.

I'm truly sorry this is hurting you so much.

I keep hoping they won't be so cruel, that maybe people will wake up that the GOP is not truly on the side of the 99%, they are a THREAT to everything we hold dear and need and finally that we can vote these jerks far enough out of power that the Democrats can make American even better permanently.

Isn't it a rule you never sign off on something if you haven't read it first?

20. They've circled the wagons ...

Which means they have chosen deliberately not to move forward. Circling the wagons in the old westward migration days was a last, desperate measure that did not often turn out well. This is going to come back to bite them in a big way over the next couple years and behind. Trouble is, it's quite likely to bite 30 million or so innocent American citizens, cripple the health care market and cause a fiscal crisis. So be it! Republican leadership and our back-asswards president would rather "win" than do the right thing. Every time, in fact.
