'Blue Out' game at Penn State for abuse victims

Source: Omaha World Herald-AP

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) — Penn State has designated the Sept. 22 game against Temple as its second annual "Blue Out" game to show solidarity with victims and survivors of child sexual abuse.

Fans are being encouraged to wear blue, while donations will be collected around Beaver Stadium for the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape. Students are organizing Blue Out activities.

The first such event occurred during the Nov. 12 game against Nebraska, a week after retired defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky was arrested on child sexual abuse charges.

... with the victim who was bullied at his high school by classmates who were Paterno fans to the point that he had to drop out before he could graduate with his fellow seniors? Was this dishonorable, odious conduct ever condemned by other Penn State fans? Did anyone like Franco Harris ever stick up for this victim who was victimized again? The callousness of it all amazes me.

Too little, too late.

*yawn* It's good image-building, I suppose. Pardon me for being cynical.

... instead of receiving the support every rape victim deserves and needs, is one of the most sickening spectacles I've ever seen. Even though I don't have a son, it really bothers and disgusts me as a father. It's a sign of moral rot in our society.

a REAL Protest would be not going to the games at all, you know hurt them where it counts, in the wallet!

But it is America where kiddie rape is A-OK as long as your team is winning and you don't get caught.
