Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) is calling for the White House to "clearly outline" what kind of legislation President Trump envisions signing after Trump moved to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program for young immigrants.
Rubio said in a statement Tuesday that Trump's decision to rescind DACA with a six-month delay gives Congress "no time to waste on ideas that do not have the votes to pass or that the president wont sign."
"Congress now has less than six months to deal with this the right way, through the legislative process," Rubio said. "It is important that the White House clearly outline what kind of legislation the president is willing to sign."

Rubio was among the bipartisan group of eight senators that authored a 2013 comprehensive immigration-reform bill that would have shielded immigrants brought to the U.S. illegally as children from deportation. That measure passed the Senate but died in the House.

I was listening to Diane Feinstein today. She said that the Senate has passed a Dreamer bill a few years ago with a good wide majority and it should be put on the floor again now.. It is the House that would not pass it at that time (and will give Dreams problems again now).

(2,593 posts)Spineless, just like Ryan who voiced support for Trump today after saying he shouldn't rescind DACA yesterday.
I don't believe anything any Republican says anymore.

(50,557 posts)He can't say he wants to put Joe Arpaio in charge of rounding up and deporting every Mexican in America regardless of citizenship status. He can't say he wants a minefield planted along the US-Mexico border. He can't say he wants all the Mexican restaurants nationalized and turned into All American Hot Dog Stands...or that he wants all the tequila in America policed up, dumped into swimming pools and set on fire...or the celebration of Cinco de Mayo to become a capital offense. Bur he'd do all that shit if he had the chance.
