Trump Reacts To Hurricane Irma: 'No Rest For The Weary!'

Source: Talking Points Memo

By MATT SHUHAM Published SEPTEMBER 6, 2017 10:06 AM

President Donald Trump exclaimed at the size of Hurricane Irma Wednesday morning, remarking on Twitter that there was “No rest for the weary!” for federal disaster workers.

On Tuesday, Trump declared states of emergency in Florida, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, freeing up federal resources for disaster relief efforts.

Hurricane Harvey battered Houston with its most extreme rain event in history roughly two weeks before Irma’s potential landfall in Florida this weekend. The storm is currently battering the Caribbean.

Though Trump called Irma the “largest ever recorded in the Atlantic,” some meteorologists have actually referred to it as the strongest such storm. Its winds have reached 185 mph, according to several reports. Hurricane Sandy in 2012 was 1,000 miles in diameter, larger than Irma.

Which certainly seems more appropriate, since he is the one of the most wicked assholes since Hitler!

There will be no rest for his ass in Hell, pitchforks is what I imagine poking his bloated and rightfully bald-headed body.

Just a weary imagining, so tired of him.... so, so tired.... of him polluting my declining years with his blatant evil.

What a sociopath.

I can only imagine if Trump had been around during other points in history.

"Trail of Tears: One of the deadliest forced relocations ever!"

Probably another reason he likes to drop bombs on Fridays.

Even negative attention is better than none. I think that's called high spectrum narcissism and it's nauseating.

I've also known a person or two like that, but as you said, he is such an extreme example. WAY WAY off the scales.

I know he became president for the attention and fame. The deal with Russia and profit making was a lesser priority. He's been talking about becoming president since at least 1987 - but was probably born wanting it.

I knew he was severely ill 20 years ago when I kept seeing him all over the TV and wondered WTF is a real estate developer doing on Hardball/Oprah/SNL, every TV he could get on.

But well before that, he somehow has photos taken and/or associations with almost every major super-celebrity and president- from Jimmy Carter to Michael Jackson to (insert super famous name).

Do an experiment - google search Trump and (very famous name) and you'll inevitably find a photo or association.

BTW-on the shows, he's not discussing real estate, he's discussing himself and throwing out attention seeking meat. On Howard Stern, talking about his daughter's body. Etc. Always in my mind - who is he, why is he on the show, and why is the host giving him this TV time? Nobody else is questioning it, so he's doing an amazing job of entertaining people and holding their interest.

And unlike the people I know, I can't just shut him off without being completely uninformed, with the risk that brings, because he MUST hog every news story, and gets upset without 24/7 coverage and a huge spotlight on him every second of every day.

That's why I fear he'll do anything to stay president. It will feel like death to him.

Wed Sep 6, 2017, 09:58 PM

who remind me of Trump, didn't have the money or power that he does. As such, the extent of their destruction was relatively limited, though they could make the lives of people close to them miserable.

Being I was from the Midwest, I wasn't as familiar with Trump as people on the East coast, so when I started to notice him, I was stunned and speechless. He would appear on television shows and say the most ridiculous things, with those oddly pursed lips like he was a fish. He seemed to get a lot of attention because he said bizarre things and also, I think because he was so unlikable. I am sure he thought people were fascinated with him, because he was supposedly "wealthy" and very successful. I was fascinated because he was very peculiar.

I noticed that whenever Trump wasn't getting any publicity, he'd say something outrageous and the media always accommodated him. They bear a lot of the blame for what has happened. Assholes saying stupid or hateful things are not newsworthy, but now he's president of the United States!

I don't know what he will do, but if he resigns, he will try to make himself look like a hero and trash a lot of people in the process. Whatever happens, we can hope that the media won't fall for another clown act like this one. But I'm not too optimistic about that.

Since his only core "value" is feeding his ego on a mass scale, he'll present whatever side pleases the audience he has.

On Howard Stern, he'll say he'd date his daughter if she wasn't his daughter. That audience loves that - not incest, but the anti-establishment nature of it from an perceived establishment member.

With evangelicals, he'll pretend to be in deep prayer and appear spiritual.

there are NO MORE "federal resources for disaster relief efforts" left. Between the floods, mudslides, and wildfires on the west coast this past spring and summer, and Harvey, it's all been drained.

We are pretty much close to the "No money for you!" point. Jose is close to being declared a Hurricane and who knows where that will go. TS Katia appears that it will possibly move west into the Yucatan peninsula.

Maybe if you weren't so lazy that you haven't bothered to finish filling out your administration, or so offensive that you hadnt't run off good people who might have served, your administration could handle more than one disaster at a time.

Just think what North Korea must be thinking about how vulnerable we appear right now.

The UN, China, and, oh wow, Russia should exert their influence on NK. The US., no thanx to the flounder in the Peoples' House, needs to be smart and calculating at this time. Shooting 'his' mouth off when the daily impulse arises is dangerous risky business.

I pray we are not witnessing the end of the age. Me and mine still got some livin' to do.
