U.S. Rep. Dave Reichert says he wont run for re-election
Source: Seattle Times
Rep. Dave Reichert, R-Auburn, will not seek re-election to an eighth term in 2018 a move that could embolden Democrats who have been lining up to flip his 8th congressional district seat.
Reichert, who recently turned 67, said in a news release Wednesday hed made the decision after spending time with family and friends reflecting on the past, discussing the future, and celebrating another birthday.
It was not an easy decision but I believe it was the right one for my family and me, Reichert said, adding he sees public service as a calling I will not walk away from.
Reicherts campaign staff had said he was seeking re-election as recently as last week.

(20,998 posts)...was that I would not be able to vote against Reichert. I voted against him in EVERY election. I campaigned for his challengers. I wrote him NUMEROUS times calling him out for some of his Congressional votes and positions. Reichert was hand-picked by cheney*/bush* to shore up the Rethuglicans in Congress, and, IMHO, got way too much mileage out of the Green River killer affair.
GOOD! It's time that seat went to a Dem!
