Mulvaney criticizes San Juan's mayor
Source: Politico
A White House official added criticism on the mayor of San Juan, Puerto Rico, a day after President Donald Trumps condemnations on Twitter.
In an interview on CNN's "State of the Union," Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney questioned San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruzs response to Hurricane Maria.
My understanding is that as of yesterday, she had not even been to the FEMA operation center in her own city, Mulvaney said, referring to the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
It is unfortunate that the San Juan mayor wants to sort of go against the grain. Wed love to have her on the team as we all pull in the same direction.

The White House is doubling down on criticizing San Juan's mayor as lazy and out of touch.

How do we keep our head above water with the daily insanity, fight those daily skirmishes - the tactics, if you will - and still fight the real strategic battle to save American and Western Democracy?

White House budget chief Mick Mulvaney on Thursday defended the Trump administrations proposed deep cuts to social welfare programs such as Meals on Wheels and after-school services, saying its unfair to taxpayers if such programs dont show hard results.
Meals on Wheels sounds great, Mulvaney said during the White House news briefing, adding that we're not going to spend [money] on programs that cannot show that they actually deliver the promises that weve made to people.
