NRA spokesperson dismisses Las Vegas massacre by claiming 'feet' are just as deadly as guns

Source: RawStory

NRA spokesperson and radio host Dana Loesch thinks that if guns are banned then fists and feet are probably next because people can punch and kick to harm others.

The American College of Physicians sent out a press release saying that gun violence is a public health issue and called for a ban of automatic and semiautomatic weapons. Loesch retweeted the release with the comment, “Right after we ban pools, cars, cigarettes, alcohol, hands feet and fists. Lives lost due to these constitute an epidemic.”

When The Hill reported on the press release from the physicians, Loesch retweeted the story and again claimed, “If it’s a “health issue,” cars, then hand, feet, and fists will be banned first (also pools).”

The NRA frequently argues that banning semiautomatic weapons is a slippery slope to banning other things responsible for death like cars, knives or, in Loesch’s case, body parts.

put her in the middle of a space that is hundreds of yards long.

On one end we have a guy who wants to kick her with his bare feet, at the other we put a person with a semi-auto rifle.

Let's see which direction she picks.

Even if this killer had been IN the crowd and started kicking (and punching) those around him - how long would it take him to murder 59 people and hurt 500 more???

Pools are made to swim in
Cars are made to provide transportation
Guns are made for...... repulsing a stampede of paper bullseye targets!

The only voice of any real consequence mentioning banning is the NRA.

And for good reason: shares of Smith & Wesson finished up 3.2 percent while Sturm, Ruger & Co. climbed 3.4 percent. Vista Outdoor, which sells firearms and ammunition, was also selling at higher prices, ending the day up 6.4 percent.

These guys know how to sell a bill of goods to simpletons and idiots.

I would prefer to see terrorists start punching and kicking people instead of shooting.

Terrorists could also kill lots of people by denying them access to health care. Just saying...

The kill counts tend to be lower in countries that make it harder for them to get guns. You can only stab so many people and run over so many with a truck.

Me either. Because a modified gun is more effective at killing people than feet.

Drunk driving decreased as soon as society began treating it as a serious issue as well. So yeah, 'cars' are dangerous, but much less so because we made common sense changes to laws and demanded better consumer protections from manufacturers. Guns could be the same, but nutjobs like this one think oceans of innocent blood are better that any threat to her 'freedoms'.

Also, would like to see how many this guy would have killed with his fists and feet alone. And how many innocents a single pool has assaulted Anyone who believes this woman's dross is a complete moron.
