EPA chief says administration to roll back climate plan

Source: Associated Press

Adam Beam, Associated Press • October 9, 2017

HAZARD, Ky. (AP) -- The Trump administration will abandon the Obama-era clean power plan aimed at reducing global warming, EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt said Monday.

Speaking in Kentucky, Pruitt said he will sign a proposed rule on Tuesday "to withdraw the so-called clean power plan of the past administration."

The clean power plan aimed to restrict greenhouse gas emissions from coal-fired power plants. It was a centerpiece of the Obama administration's environmental policies. The Environmental Protection Agency is expected to declare the Obama-era rule exceeded federal law by setting emissions standards that power plants could not reasonably meet.

"The EPA and no federal agency should ever use its authority to say to you we are going to declare war on any sector of our economy," Pruitt said. He spoke at an event with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

Reversing EVERYTHING the Dotard administration does would appeal to a whole lotta Democrats!

Dismantling the will of the people for the last 25 years is just plain asshole - a lesson I hope the deplorables don't learn sweating away in a cloud of radiation.

It is sad that the EPA is filled with people who originally thought they were going to be able to fight to save the environment, but under Pruitt are now working hard to suppress science and do the bidding of polluters. It would be like someone who signed up for a pet rescue, but then drowned puppies in a tub once they are dropped off because they were told to do so and wanted to keep their job. Just following orders I guess.
