The Puerto Rican city that President Trump visited last week in the wake of Hurricane Maria is still mostly without power, according to BuzzFeed.
Theres no electricity, and water has arrived at two or three neighborhoods, but very few, Roberto Garcia, assistant to the mayor of Guaynabo, Puerto Rico told the publication in comments published on Wednesday.
Puerto Rico's government said on Tuesday that about 10 percent of the islands 3.4 million U.S. citizens are currently without electricity. The news comes a week after the president and the first lady visited the city, where they handed out necessities such as food and flashlights.
Flashlights, you dont need em anymore. You dont need em anymore, the president said, while handing them out. It is also where Trump tossed paper towels into the crowd of people gathered around him.

(11,528 posts)Just 2 or 3 days ago I listened in on a couple of conversations indicating that there were still vast areas outside still without power. I know that there will be discrepancies with statistics such as this, but it sounds like someone is being overly optimistic with their numbers.

(11,528 posts)Hard to say how accurate that is of course since that's just from the perspective of a few people, but it's pretty certain that there's a long way to go in restoring basic services to the people of Puerto Rico.

(2,381 posts)a few were smiling. Probably because the whole thing was so bizarre. Most looked glum. And that bit that Drumpf said about everyone cheering and happy was bullshit.
