Trump likely to block release of classified JFK files: report

Source: The Hill

BY JULIA MANCHESTER - 10/20/17 09:23 PM EDT

President Trump is expected to block the release of information from thousands of classified documents regarding the assassination of former President John F. Kennedy in 1963, according to a Politico Magazine article on Friday.

More than 3,000 assassination-related documents are set to be released by the National Archives next week in accordance with the President John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Collection Act of 1992, which states that the federal government must release them by Oct. 26, 2017.

However, Trump administration officials told the publication that there was a concern over releasing classified documents that were created in the 1990s, saying it could provide important information on recent intelligence and law enforcement operations.

The officials did not comment on what details regarding Kennedy's death would be kept secret under Trump's order to block the release.

I don't think Putin would have a problem with that coming out.
I believe the Soviets might have been involved somehow, but they couldn't have masterminded the whole thing.
Whatever conspiracy did take place, the CIA had to be behind it one way or another.

The story should be told - we deserve to know what happened.

Trump knows that there are a lot of people out there that would like to get this info. I myself lived through the Kennedy assassination and would like to find out what info that might have been held from us at the time. I'm sure that there are Kennedy historians that would like the same.

Trump knows that he has the power to prevent this info to getting to the People - so he's using this as a power play to continue to keep it secret - because he can.

and all the secrets pertaining to it, belong to Trump and the rest of the oligarchs who feel it's their right to know, and not the peasants who are so far beneath them. They feel that information is power, and they want no one to even get a germ of an idea about obtaining any of their power. Keep the peasants ignorant. After all, it's worked for the Republican party for the past 50 years, now they want to expand that ignorance to every party. They just might find that attempting to keep Democrats ignorant - and isolated in that ignorance, isn't as easy as it was with the Republican 'faithful'.

I wonder how I and others might have reacted to this exact message if the actual winner of the presidential contest had issued it.

I'm pissed, of course, but I can't imagine what is in here that wouldn't hurt Democrats as much as Republicans.

Nobody even imagined!

Can you all believe that?

(pause for reflection) Nobody knew ... nobody knew. Amazing!

I mean, and believe me ... (questioning tone) "How could anyone have known?" is what I've been hearing, even though I'M President! (brief chuckle, then wait for brief chuckle from crowd) ...

No, really, I Am!

President, I mean!

(conspiratorial tone) Or ... So ... They ... Tell ... Me (pause briefly for laughter) ...

Well, not in the FAKE MEDIA, of course ... but ... YOU PEOPLE ALL UNDERSTAND what I'm saying, right? (pause for loud applause) ...

But ... yeah ... that's the kind of complexity we're looking at here people ... very complex, very complex ...
