Majorities in new poll see Trump as reckless, not honest

Source: The Hill

BY JULIA MANCHESTER - 10/25/17 07:18 AM EDT

A majority of American voters says they view President Trump as reckless and not honest, according to a new POLITICO/Morning Consult poll.

Fifty-six percent of voters say Trump is reckless, while only 31 percent said he is not, according to the survey.

Fifty-one percent of voters also say the president is not honest, compared to just 35 percent who use the term honest to describe him.

Majorities also said Trump is not compassionate (54 percent) and thin-skinned (52 percent).

3. If you think Trump is honest, you must be a liar just like him.

How many lies does he have to tell before you admit he is a liar ???

Can you even recognize a lie ???

Do you know the definition of a lie ???

Do you lie so much that Trump seems truthful to you ???

Do you enjoy being lied to ???

WTF is wrong with Trump supporters ???

They see a family on a TV comercial for a minivan and have no notion that those people are all paid actors and had likely never met each other before that morning on the set. They are TV “reality-ists” and cannot distinguish the difference between fact/fiction. It’s all the same to them. What’s more, the difference donesn’t matter to them. TV pResident is who they imagine and want him to be.

Also a big apathy factor. People who can't be bothered to give half a fuck. Since the country hasn't been blown up. Someone must be doing their job. So "sure everything's fine. What's big deal?".

Young, old, black, white, millennial, boomer...makes no difference IF they didn't vote.

I've long suspected that we Dems would have won far more elections, at all levels, if only the apathetic had voted instead of staying home by saying "what difference does my vote make anyway?"

Sad.........................

Everyone was warned about trump. I abhor him and the repubs. Will these same folks vote out the repubs running in 2018 to put the brakes on trump & the repub agenda to stick it to us? I seriously doubt it.

maybe someone should run a poll on how much we all like having the most selfish and ignorant third of the population running the country.

maybe we could have a poll like that every couple years, and use it to establish leadership and congressional representation.

14. Unfortunately his approval is 42% in this poll...

42% approval is actually good for him and really not far off (perhaps even higher) than his overall approval during the last election.

It seems to me that despite the almost daily insanity, his supporters are still with him and despite everything very little else has changed.

My guess is the public will probably get tired of it come 2020, but if we are not careful in the way we go after him (ie, if we unintentionally insult/belittle/diminish Trump voters) they may rally around him again just as a big F U to what they perceive as the "elitists" and "establishment". We are seeing this trend in other countries around the world and it shouldn't be dismissed as a fleeting phase.

Probably a lot of people who view Trump reckless and dishonest, will still vote for him - oddly enough for them, those things aren't necessarily a negative.

15. I believe very strongly that eventually his approval will get down to 25 percent.

Perhaps 28 percent, about one in four. Honesty will get down to a little less. There is still a time factor that involves a gradually change of opinion. Very strongly held views change gradually. but these strong Trumpers are pealing off..slowly and consistently. We want the peal off to be quicker, but it can't be. We are getting to the strongest of the "true believers" and they don't want to stop their "true believing"

..It will get to one in four, because the kind of change that is required takes time. As the true believers contemplate their views, and the constant lies and more lies, the change takes place. He is not honest, and yet some want to believe him to be "honest" But there are what I call .."closers" people close to the "strong true believers" who have changed their view. Family and Friends who were once Trumpers, and cannot take the constant lies and bullying. They are the ones who have recently seen the light and changed their view...

The changed .."closers" those who recently changed..and finally see what we see; they will be the ones who gradually will convince the "true believers" that they need to change.
..Why?...He really is a bully and constant liar. Perhaps when the indictments come, with all the proof that will be presented, then the "true believers" will change more rapidly. But I believe that there will always be 20 to 25 percent "true believers" because that is the way that society is. If that number gets to 20 percent, we will be very lucky. I hope the people who see the light, help to change the "true believers" more quickly, but I don't think that is possible. I wish we could change the "true believers", but I believe we cannot change them. I believe that is up to the people close to the "true believers", who were once true believers who changed to do that work. And that is very hard work indeed. If enough "true believers" see the light, perhaps our country will evolve into a better place. If more "true believers" are spawned from this cesspool of hate and lies, (not less) then our country and our values may die. We will see. Hopefully the good guys will win, but no one knows what the future will be. I never thought under any circumstances that Trump could win.
