Miami-Dade Commissioner Esteban Bovo, whose former Hialeah district office manager has been linked to an absentee-ballot fraud investigation, put out a statement Friday morning lamenting the situation.
The truth and facts will reveal that neither I nor any other member of my staff utilized the Commission office for campaign purposes, he said.
Anamary Pedrosa, Bovos former aide, has been questioned by police for collecting 164 ballots from brokers known as boleteros at Bovos Hialeah district office. She then delivered them to the post office.

Bovo, a former Republican state representative and Hialeah city council member, said in his statement that he is deeply disturbed that my name, or that my office, is being mentioned in the same breath of an absentee ballot investigation.
