Source: The Hill

BY REBECCA SAVRANSKY - 10/30/17 10:29 AM EDT

In addition, Manafort was indicted on counts including conspiracy to launder money, making false statements and failing to file reports of foreign bank and financial accounts.

1. Being "open", there can be more charges. Including actions and transaction in 2016. Tremendous pressure on Manafort and tRump.

2A. If tRump pardon's Manafort, then Manafort has no self-incrimination protection by 5th Amendment, so he would be compelled to tell all he knows about Trump-Russia-Republicons.

2B. If tRump does not pardon Manafort, then Manafort is facing long prison time and has tremendous reason to tell all he knows about Trump-Russia-Republicons.

You are either the most ignorant mf’er, or completely complicit. And as your son and son in law we’re having meetings with Russia about the election, and you told your spawn to lie and say it was about Russian adoptions... I vote for you knew and did not care, as long as Russia left you alone to make your $$$ to repay your debts and pad you and your family’s assets, you were more than willing to give this great nation away.

Now the entire GOP owns this. They were aware of it, but figured that they could destroy social safety nets and get a big tax cut for themselves and their donors before unseating you.

(emphasis added)

WASHINGTON ― A foreign policy adviser to President Donald Trump’s presidential campaign has pleaded guilty to a charge of lying to FBI agents.

George Papadopoulos, 30, pleaded guilty on Oct. 5, 2017, but the case wasn’t unsealed until Monday, when two other Trump associates were indicted by a federal grand jury. Papadopoulos reached a plea deal with prosecutors, and has since been cooperating with special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Prosecutors’ statement of the offense alleges Papadopoulos “made material false statements and material omissions” during a Jan. 27, 2017, interview with the FBI. He was arrested July 27. Prosecutors agreed to recommend between no prison time to six months under the plea agreement.

Papadopoulos told the FBI an overseas professor had “told him about the Russians possessing ‘dirt’ on then-candidate Hillary Clinton in the form of ‘thousands of emails,’ but stated multiple times that he learned that information prior to joining the campaign,” according to court documents. In fact, Papadopoulos was contacted after he learned he’d be joining the campaign, and the professor only mentioned the “thousands of emails” after he’d been on the Trump campaign for more than a month.

Heartening to see him taking more and more. I like to see that kind of enthusiasm in a criminal. Going to be hard for him to find a branch high enough at this point though.
