Cards Against Humanity buys land on Mexican border to block Trump's wall

Source: ABC News

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Cards Against Humanity, the "party game for terrible people" based in Chicago, has purchased a plot of land on the Mexican border and retained an eminent domain law firm to block the construction of President Trump's border wall.

"Donald Trump is a preposterous golem who is afraid of Mexicans. He is so afraid that he wants to build a twenty-billion dollar wall that everyone knows will accomplish nothing. So we've purchased a plot of vacant land on the border and retained a law firm specializing in eminent domain to make it as time-consuming and expensive as possible for the wall to get built," the company wrote on their website.

Cards Against Humanity purchased the land as part of their "Cards Against Humanity Saves America" holiday promotion. The holiday special costs $15 and features six "America-saving surprises" mailed to participants during the month of December.

The first gift features an illustrated map of the border land purchased, a certificate of the company's promise to fight the wall, and "other surprises."

and arguing about what is public use and what is fair compensation can tie it up in the courts for years.

Realistically though, depending on the size of the plot of land, the government could just as likely to build the wall around the plot to avoid delays.

although they may get more money. If the govt can show they need it....they've got it. That's what imminent domain is all about.

The government is being run by a toilet. We have no choice... we are going to save America and attempt to keep our brand relevant in 2017

It's a CaH clone with tons of decks and internet play. You can add sets from all of the expansions, plus some homemade ones, too.
You can also play with just your friends or complete strangers. Me and my friends across the country have been using this site for a year or more.

And based on the attitudes that the company has (they once set up a table with sets and a sign that said "Nobody is Watching this Booth" I think they're not going to object to this website.

There are in fact, many examples of individuals, HOA's and farm co-ops successfully fighting eminent domain.

It's not predicated on luck as much as on due diligence, research and determination.

Board and card games can be fun, challenging and keep family and friends occupied. But one rather risqué game has recently embarked on a more politically strategic challenge.

Cards Against Humanity - "a party game for horrible people," according to its creators - has been mentioned in over 14,000 tweets, at time of writing, after revealing it had purchased a plot of land on the US border with Mexico.

The company is known for self-aware stunts, such as launching a pink edition of the game for women and raising $95,000 (£72,000) to dig a hole for no reason.

A gesture with a follow-through. Eminent Domain is not absolute and has been defeated time and time again on local, state and federal levels.

A nice post, though.
