Kellyanne Conway: Trump Reacted to Franken But Not Roy Moore Because Moore Story 'Old'

During a Fox News hit this morning, White House counselor Kellyanne Conway was asked about the president wading into the national discussion about Franken. Host Sandra Smith noted that there is a cloud hanging over Washington due to the Franken allegation, pointing out that the president commented on the photo of the Minnesota lawmaker groping Tweeden.

Conway brought up Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) as well as Franken, explaining that the Democrats don’t look good right now even though they “have been on their high horse of late about sexual assault. After saying that she had tried to make an issue of it last year, Conway added that “I look at these two and say in a country of 330 million is this the best we can do in our representatives.” Smith pointed out that Menendez “was not tried for sexual assault” and that those are “two different things we’re talking about.” The Fox News host then moved on to Moore, stating that the “president’s critics” are hitting Trump for his lack of mention of the Alabama GOP Senate candidate.

“[Moore] still has a lot of support,” Smith stated. “But we haven’t heard a lot from the president. He is tweeting on Al Franken, asked about Roy Moore yesterday and he didn’t respond.”

“Al Franken was a new news story yesterday and the president weighs in as he does on the news of the day,” Conway responded. “The Roy Moore story is eight days old. The president put out a statement on his Asia trip and the press secretary says the people of Alabama will sort out what to do with Roy Moore.”

in Westchester county NY. One of the best school districts in the country. Old houses, tree lined streets. And only a half hour commute to midtown Manhattan. I'm in a very old apartment building with high ceilings and arched doorways. Love it here.
