After close to two weeks of ducking questions on whether he still backs Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore, President Trump made it clear Tuesday that he stood by his endorsement of Moore.

We dont need a liberal Democrat in that seat, Trump said as he exited the White House Tuesday. We dont need a liberal person in there.

And Trump defended Moore, who like Trump has faced accusations of sexual harassment and assault.

He denies it, he totally denies it, Trump said.

Support Moore so he is elected.

As soon as that happens, lean on Moore and get him to resign (or have Mitch round up enough votes to expel him from the Senate).

Then, Sessions resigns the AG and is appointed by the rightwing Bama gov to take Moore's short lived seat.

For Trump, this has the double advantage to securing the Alabama senate seat for a Republican, and easing Sessions out of the Justice department, where he hasn't performed to Trump's satisfaction.

The huge fly in that ointment is getting Moore to win the election. Trump's support of him may backfire, and help ensure Jones' victory. We hope.
