Source: Bloomberg
Hackers stole the personal data of 57 million customers and drivers from Uber Technologies Inc., a massive breach that the company concealed for more than a year. This week, the ride-hailing company ousted Joe Sullivan, chief security officer, and one of his deputies for their roles in keeping the hack under wraps.

(27,811 posts)I know that we all have to deal with compromised data, and need to decide whether to keep going to Target, use our banks, whatever. It's an unfortunate aspect of an online world.

(32,639 posts)I'm shocked that they claim to have 50 million customers. They've lost the data on every single customer they've ever had. Whoever runs Uber's IT department must be a collossal idiot.
Every person on their executive management team and IT department should be fired.
