New York police charge 5 for assaulting, robbing migrant workers

Five people in rural New York have been charged with assaulting and robbing Mexican migrant workers, authorities said Sunday.

Arrest warrants have been issued for four more people, the Wyoming County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.

Melissa Cotton, Timothy Kuhn, Gunner Northrup, Allen Seckler and Brittany Wiedemann are being held in lieu of bail on robbery charges, police said. Four of the suspects face one count so far; Seckler faces three charges. It wasn't immediately clear whether they had retained legal representation.
