Paul Ryan: I will show two years of taxes

Source: Politico

Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan said Sunday that he will release two years of his tax returns, the same as Mitt Romney, but ducked a question about how many years of returns he had turned over to Romney campaign officials as part of the vetting process.

“Well, it — it was a very exhaustive vetting process. It’s a confidential vetting process, so there were several years. But I’m going to release the same amount of years that Gov. Romney has,” Ryan, the Republican Wisconsin congressman, told CBS News veteran Bob Schieffer on “60 Minutes” in GOP ticket’s first joint interview since Romney announced his VP pick.

“I’m going to be releasing two [years of returns], which is what he’s releasing,” Ryan added, referring to Romney, who was sitting next to him.

Ryan said voters aren’t wondering about Romney’s decision to release only two years of tax returns - which has faced a withering barrage of attacks from the Obama campaign - but rather about “where the jobs are.” Ryan said tax returns were a side issue manufactured by Obama to distract voters from the nation’s economic woes.

That's exactly what I was thinking. What a little punk Ryan is--to believe that he can try to cover for Romney's disgraceful release of only two years of tax returns.

Ryan will be destroyed. What a terrible career move for Ryan. He's hitching his wagon to a large, destructive asteroid--not a star--and it's all going to come crashing down on him.

Ryan can't save this campaign. He can't save Romney. He can't stop Romney from being an unrelatable fool with whom most Americans don't connect. Ryan may excite the 20 percent of radical wingnuts out there, but he offends everyone else. The party wingnuts would have shown up to vote against Obama anyway. It's the Independents that decide it, and Ryan's budget offends many Republicans and most Indies.

Romney will lose in November and Ryan will be forever tarnished because he will always be associated with this train-wreck campaign.

I found this part very interesting:

“What we’re saying is take away the tax shelters that are uniquely enjoyed by people in the top tax brackets so they can’t shelter as much money from taxation, should lower tax rates for everybody to make America more competitive,” Ryan said.

Romney is running on the "do as I say - not as I do" platform?

Can't wait to see what's in Ryan's returns.

You could run American taxes down to zero and not make America more "competitive" (this means 'leading the race to the bottom,' but you know how Republicans are...) because you're "competing" against countries with a $3/day minimum wage and no environmental laws.

Don't forget, Ryan is the guy that charges his constituents for the privilege of coming to his Town Hall meetings, and then throws them out, or arrests them if they dare to ask a question he doesn't like.
