Paul Ryan: I will show two years of taxes
Source: Politico
Well, it it was a very exhaustive vetting process. Its a confidential vetting process, so there were several years. But Im going to release the same amount of years that Gov. Romney has, Ryan, the Republican Wisconsin congressman, told CBS News veteran Bob Schieffer on 60 Minutes in GOP tickets first joint interview since Romney announced his VP pick.
Im going to be releasing two [years of returns], which is what hes releasing, Ryan added, referring to Romney, who was sitting next to him.
Ryan said voters arent wondering about Romneys decision to release only two years of tax returns - which has faced a withering barrage of attacks from the Obama campaign - but rather about where the jobs are. Ryan said tax returns were a side issue manufactured by Obama to distract voters from the nations economic woes.

Paul, thanks for keeping the tax issue in the news for a couple more cycles. Couldn't have done it without you...

(24,411 posts)That's exactly what I was thinking. What a little punk Ryan is--to believe that he can try to cover for Romney's disgraceful release of only two years of tax returns.
Ryan will be destroyed. What a terrible career move for Ryan. He's hitching his wagon to a large, destructive asteroid--not a star--and it's all going to come crashing down on him.
Ryan can't save this campaign. He can't save Romney. He can't stop Romney from being an unrelatable fool with whom most Americans don't connect. Ryan may excite the 20 percent of radical wingnuts out there, but he offends everyone else. The party wingnuts would have shown up to vote against Obama anyway. It's the Independents that decide it, and Ryan's budget offends many Republicans and most Indies.
Romney will lose in November and Ryan will be forever tarnished because he will always be associated with this train-wreck campaign.

I found this part very interesting:
Romney is running on the "do as I say - not as I do" platform?
Can't wait to see what's in Ryan's returns.

(50,557 posts)You could run American taxes down to zero and not make America more "competitive" (this means 'leading the race to the bottom,' but you know how Republicans are...) because you're "competing" against countries with a $3/day minimum wage and no environmental laws.

Hey you piece of dung, elections are a vetting process too. We demand that you relese to the American people the same amount of tax returns that Willard told you had to release to him.

10 points to the O campaign. They are going to kick Ryan and Rmoney's arse.
Voter suppression and purging and messing with voters machines (like WI) ain't going to help. Goppers will need those polls numbers like WI to steal the elections.

(27,799 posts)and remind the voters that Romney's father released 10 years worth when he ran for president..
Don't forget, Ryan is the guy that charges his constituents for the privilege of coming to his Town Hall meetings, and then throws them out, or arrests them if they dare to ask a question he doesn't like.
