DNA analysis solves the Yeti mystery: They're bears

Source: LA Times

The origins of the Himalayan Yeti myth have been revealed at last — thanks to science.

Big furry animals, larger than humans and capable of walking on two legs do indeed roam the highest mountains on Earth, according to a study published Tuesday in Proceedings of the Royal Society B, a biological sciences journal.

But they’re not Yetis. They’re bears.

After analyzing the DNA of nine purported Yeti specimens, scientists found that five of the preserved “Yetis” were in fact Tibetan brown bears, two were Himalayan brown bears, and one -- a relic which looked like a fossilized hand -- originally belonged to an Asian black bear.

You got to admit that after so many years of the "Finding Bigfoot" crew
out working and not finding one bigfoot people should have caught on.

Oh well the actor in the most famous bigfoot film confessed on his
death bed that it was all a scam.

Like I say, there's a reason the show is called Ghost Hunters and not Ghost Finders.

Quatch means a sound or something pudgy.

In slang, a quatch is someone who says or does something embarrassing.

Great Pyrenees - rumored yeti killers. They were originally breed to guard live stock in the Pyrenees mountains in France. They are not afraid to take on bears, mountain lions and yes there are stories of yetis.

My dog (Corporal Hicks), dressed as a dire wolf for Halloween. Not my dog pictured but he looks exactly like the one pictured.

it's very possible it could be bears.. if you look on you tube.. you can see many videos of actual bears walking upright like humans.. if you cover them with snow they could be mistaken as a yeti....
