GOP Congressman says it's time to 'purge' FBI of anti-Trump elements

Source: USA Today

Florida GOP Rep. Francis Rooney said Tuesday he wants leaders at the Department of Justice and the FBI to "purge" officials he says are politically biased against President Trump.

"People need a good, clean government," Rooney said in an interview on MSNBC.

In recent weeks, Republicans have sounded the alarm that bias within the law enforcement community is compromising Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russia's election interference and possible collusion with Trump associates.

In the interview, Rooney mentioned FBI agent Peter Strzok, whom Mueller removed from the Russia investigation after learning about texts he sent disparaging Trump. He also raised concern about Justice Department official Bruce Ohr, who was reportedly demoted for hiding ties to Fusion GPS, the company behind a notorious dossier alleging Trump's ties to Russia.

Even before Election Day, Donald Trump had distinguished himself for not paying taxes, for shortchanging his vendors and contractors, for undermining unions, for violating antidiscrimination laws, for questionable bankruptcy practices, for questionable financial deals with the Soviets/Russians, for questionable financial deals with the Arabs, etc. etc.

Eliminating from the FBI all FBI investigators who had developed some acquaintance with Trump's shady practices would leave the FBI building one big empty. It would mean replacing hundreds of trained, experienced, skilled crime investigators with a regiment of Helen Kellers.

The collusion and obstruction cases growing against all these people from their own words and their own actions, and will be purged, and the FBI is not persecuted because of political affiliations, or people can't be attacked just because they believe the opposite of the one they're investigating, look at Nixon, Clinton, Hillary, and many other investigations. It doesn't work that way, but they want only trump loyalists investigating him it sounds like, only giving him his verdict and results or they claim they're tainted. Dictators do that in third world countries. Trump wants to abide by trump rule of law, for trump to be cleared of all accusations , then he's already found Hillary and President Obama guilty as sin, because under his law that's how it works. Once yo allow anyone to be above the rule of law, they become like putin has become, where his opposition is always attacked and guilty, and all threats are removed to his power, and control.

The GOP Rep in the OP, Rooney, and of the title, is wrong. Period.

If you are replying to the post above you, #35, then you have made a mistake. You need to click the Reply-To link in that post.

If you are replying to the OP, as you have done, your post is very strange and whacky (check top right of your post box where it says "Response to fountainofyouth (Original post)" ).

Welcome to DU, I think. 107 posts in 3 days, and now this confusing run-on sentence rant.

Your post starts off with the title "He's right" and proceeds to take an anti-FBI stance saying that they are colluding and obstructing against Trump. At first quick read I wrote a thread title "You miss the point. You don't know your history. You don't understand what is going on." Then I reconsidered.

But the second half of your post seems to be anti-Trump.
