Democratic Rep. Ted Lieu (Calif.) warned on Saturday that special counsel Robert Mueller "knows far more than people think," pointing to a new report on the Trump campaign's alleged dealings with Russia.

Lieu pointed to a Saturday New York Times report that found former Trump campaign foreign adviser George Papadopoulos inadvertently triggered the FBI's investigation into Russian collusion by reportedly drunkenly spilling to an Australian diplomat details of Russians possessing Democratic party emails.

The California lawmaker is a member of the House Judiciary Committee, which has interviewed former Trump campaign team members about their knowledge of communications with Russia.

Lieu has fiercely defended Mueller's team despite criticism from Republicans, and has warned Trump of the political fallout for firing the top investigator.

Probably much,much more. Mueller is famously tight-lipped so we'll hear what he knows when he chooses to make it public, and not before. The lack of leaks is likely freaking out Trump & his Republican friends as much as anything else. Nothing is as scary as what a guilty conscience tells you.

30. Well, cross Trump being amiable toward Mueller

with the stories that the WH staff and his lawyers even keep him out of the loop so he won't have a hissy fit and start firing people and make their job more difficult. He's watching Fox, and they're likely aware as well that they shouldn't provoke him and are vital to keeping him on the painted "go here and sign this" line they need him to follow until inevitable mechanical failure.
