More blame Republicans than Democrats for potential government shutdown, Post-ABC poll finds

Source: Washington Post

By a 20-point margin, more Americans blame President Trump and Republicans rather than Democrats for a potential government shutdown, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.

A 48 percent plurality says Trump and congressional Republicans are mainly responsible for the situation resulting from disagreements over immigration laws and border security, while 28 percent fault Democrats. A sizable 18 percent volunteer that both parties are equally responsible. Political independents drive the lopsided margin of blame, saying by 46 to 25 percent margin that Republicans and Trump are responsible for the situation.

Why do we even show up to vote on these things?

It'd be a great graphic to see the GOP standing around arguing but unable to pass their own

They don't understand nor care about "cloture" votes or other legislative rules or procedures. All they know is that GOP elected representatives outnumber Democratic elected representatives and whoever is in the "majority" when they vote, is supposed to win.

I believe this to be a near exclusive Republican tactic that the Tea Baggers began using indiscriminately. I detest this false equivalency spewed by the MSM. I wish someone would do the research and determine how many times Republicans have used this tactic and how many times the Dems have done so...It's got to be 99% Repub.

1994 - 1995 (against Clinton) & 2013 (against Obama)

...although this go-around, the GOP is so used to doing spite shutdowns, they forgot it would happen under their OWN GOP President!!

The ones blaming democrats are the ones that would support trump even if they saw him shoot an innocent person as he himself said.
