North Pole surges above freezing in the dead of winter, stunning scientists

The sun won’t rise at the North Pole until March 20, and it’s normally close to the coldest time of year, but an extraordinary and possibly historic thaw swelled over the tip of the planet this weekend.

Temperatures may have soared as high as 35 degrees Fahrenheit (2 degrees Celsius) at the pole, according to the U.S. Global Forecast System model. While there are no direct measurements of temperature there, Zack Labe, a climate scientist working on his PhD at the University of California at Irvine, confirmed that several independent analyses showed “it was very close to freezing,” which is more than 50 degrees (30 degrees Celsius) above normal.

The average temperature was more than 36 degrees (20 degrees Celsius) above normal. “No other warm intrusions were very close to this,” Labe said in an interview, describing a data set maintained by the Danish Meteorological Institute that dates back to 1958. “I was taken by surprise how expansive this warm intrusion was.”

We received the initial diagnosis way back in 1896 from Arrhenius....we were warned again in the 1920's and 1940's and 1950's and 1970's and 1980's and 1990's and 2000's and present day.

The greenhouse effect is not pseudo-science, it is fact and has been known as fact for centuries.

Carbon Dioxide (and other greenhouse gases) have been known for the same length of time.

The deception is being laid bare now in ways that are too significant to hide and soon too catastrophic to deny. We have been in the midst of the next great mass extinction event for perhaps up to the last 50 years as indigenous species around the globe have been being absolutely decimated and driven to extinction.

Climate scientists around the world warned of this for DECADES now...ignored.
Climate pacts were agreed to and then the USA "pulls out", thus further ignoring the issues...

Bend over and kiss you ass goodbye folks. The data and projections we have been allowed to see were always low end estimates and best case scenarios...we were not shown the true horror for fear of creating the inevitable - global social breakdown, resource hording and war.

This is called SSW, Sudden Stratospheric Warming.

There are scientific papers that predict it could increase in frequency due to ACC, but this is NOT unprecedented. There's no way to know the causation.

It snows in Rome every once in a while. It snows in Syria and Lebanon every once in a while.
