Scott Brown says Rep. Akin should step down after ‘legitimate rape’ comment

Source: Liz Goodwin, Yahoo! News - The Ticket

Brown is facing a challenge from Democratic candidate Elizabeth Warren this November. Brown called Akin's comments "outrageous" in a statement:

As a husband and father of two young women, I found Todd Akin's comments about women and rape outrageous, inappropriate and wrong. There is no place in our public discourse for this type of offensive thinking. Not only should he apologize, but I believe Rep. Akin's statement was so far out of bounds that he should resign the nomination for US Senate in Missouri.

Earlier on Monday, Mitt Romney called Akin's comments "insulting" but stopped short of asking him to step aside. Romney senior adviser Eric Fehrnstrom is also an adviser on Brown's campaign. At least four other Republican Senate candidates have criticized Akin since Sunday, Talking Points Memo reported, and no national Republican has ventured to defend Akin.

I think as we draw nearer to election day Warren is going to win this one pretty easily.

It's a save-your-own-skin move on the part of vulnerable republican candidates.

But it damages their credentials with the right-wing nuttery.

Make those Missouri voters face their dark side, because the troglodyte Akin just threw open the basement door wherein reside all manner of ugly political beasts. Besides, remember our girl Sarah was stumping for Steelman who could likely be the pick.

You look enlightened to liberals in Mass, and your opinion doesn't mean jack to the voters in Missouri.

Look for Akin to win despite his idiocy. After all, Rand Paul is a Senator, David Vitter is a Senator, etc.

We're going to wrap the Akin albatross around every fucking Republicans neck. MA voters need to know what the fucking party you are in stands for.

So, Scotty...are your going to demand that Paul Ryan also step down as VP nominee for co-sponsoring the hate-filled fucking bill where this "if she didn't enjoy it, she can't get pregnant, therefore, if she's pregnant, she must have enjoyed it" idea comes from?

Fuck you and your entire Teabagged-asshatted-Cheetoes stained penis party!
