With primary ending, Cruz takes opening shot at Beto O'Rourke's name

Source: CNN

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz's first shot at his expected Democratic challenger, Rep. Beto O'Rourke? Mocking his name.

As Tuesday's primaries were closing, Cruz's campaign released a 60-second radio ad that was a country music jingle prodding O'Rourke for going by "Beto" rather than "Robert."

"Little Robert wanted to fit in, so he changed his name to Beto and hid it with a grin," the song says.

O'Rourke said he's gone by "Beto" since he was born.

As explained, Beto is the common nickname for Robert in El Paso.

And O'Rourke has a baby picture of himself in a hand-stitched "Beto" sweater on Instagram:

Cruz, on the other hand, DID change his nickname from what it was originally -- Felito ("little Rafael" ) -- to Ted, when he was 13, because HE "wanted to fit in" -- as this 2015 Miami Herald article explained:

http://www.miamiherald.com/news/politics-government/election/article37358505.html

[div class"excerpt"]Cruzs last name sounds like a word in English cruise. Hes described his Spanish as lousy. His aggressive immigration stance has led Latino advocates to call him extreme.

But until age 13, Cruz born Rafael Edward, in a nod to his father and to his mothers Irish-Italian family went by the Spanish-language nickname Felito. He changed it to Ted to stop getting teased by kids in Houston who said it rhymed with Fritos, Cheetos, Doritos, and Tostitos, according to his political memoir, A Time for Truth.

My father was furious with the decision. He viewed it as a rejection of him and his heritage, which was not my intention, Cruz wrote. For about two years, he refused to utter my new name.

Is against an assault ban, helping make the DACA kids legal, and is working to destroy Social Security. Beto has many things to publicize about little rafael's agenda against the people of Texas. Cruz voted for the tax scam which kicked millions off of their health care. He needs to go.

When his original name sounds like word for oral sex in English?

Seems Cruz was embarrassed by his own name and changed it. Now he is projecting his own feelings and actions.

issues are on the table? Wow. Maybe we all should start calling him 'lying Ted' or 'the failed congressman from TX, who didn't accomplish anything in Congress'. Time for a new face and a new senator who won't resort to name calling or name baiting to get the job done.

Beto has one of many items going for him he is Democrat............and he isn't into name calling............its about issues ............

What's your problem, you have to go into "name calling" you really are little man and a person and no principles...............to "show" your manhood, your like a bully and really thinned skinned to revert to childhood antics, because you probably played unfairly, in other words you cheated............... ................................. .

What's your problem, I know many, you confirmed the sexual predators narcissistic malignant psychopathic members of his cabinet and choices of unqualified judge, and this alone makes you unqualified to be in the Senate chamber, plus the fact your a racist, and a bigot..................have you by chance there "Felito" taken a big look see of how the current traitors corrupt supporting team has "bilked" millions from the taxpayers ........................your a f*****g a*****e (name calling----------got it, dude)..................you would confirm a wet paper bag if given the opportunity, to show how politically corrupt you are.....................

So in closing......................to defeat a jerk with no principles.............I have solution.............
