Larry Kudlow will be the next director of the National Economic Council, succeeding Gary Cohn as President Donald Trump's top economic adviser, a person close to the matter said.
Trump offered the job to Kudlow, an economic analyst and television personality, over the phone Tuesday night while Kudlow was at dinner in Manhattan, and he accepted, the person said.
The pair have known each other for years, and Kudlow gave Trump tax-policy advice during his 2016 presidential campaign. Trump at one point soured on Kudlow as a possible NEC director because he publicly criticized the presidents decision to impose steep tariffs on steel and aluminum imports, but Trump later changed his mind.
Kudlow would likely have to push to protect the North American Free Trade Agreement in the White House. In a recent podcast interview, Kudlow said withdrawing from the agreement would be a calamitously bad decision.

(343 posts)If you are on TV you can be anything it seems. Even President. Larry Kudlow was fine as a yelling yahoo on the floor of the stock exchange, he is going to quickly show he does not know anything as economic adviser.

Next up will be Nunes moving over from Senate to WH. He KNOWS he will never be re elected and The F'n MORON will pay him back for carrying his water and covering up, impeding one of the great crimes, correction, the greatest crime in the history of America.
