I did not make this up. Hit the link, this governor said this. He starts talking about 37 seconds into the video. The entire video lasts about one minute and 12 seconds.

(8,200 posts)They wallow in the blood of innocents as they clutch their weapons of death and destruction. It is a substitute for the miserable little appendage that adores their infested crotch and their corrupt stinted intellect. Republicans chose to go down this path of over fifty years ago when Nixon disgraced the presidency with his Southern Strategy that cast the Blacks as leeches to be exterminated. They are in companion with the vultures of greed and feast on the ignorant and simple minded. They use the them like toilet paper and flush the drain and laugh at the useful idiots with glee. They must be stopped at all cost before they take the entire nation into the pit.

(13,874 posts)He had a 0-3 record in statewide elections before he won the largely ceremonial Lt Gov spot that no one else wanted. When Nikki Haley went to the UN he became Gov.
He is a vacuous moron without any strong opinions on anything. A businesswoman is running far to his right, mentioning at every opportunity that her family owned slaves at one time and she is proud of her Confederate ancestors and their heroic fight. So the Gov is looking for any sound bites he can find to rally the hard right primary voters.
We have an excellent Dem candidate, so we are hoping the GOP primary gets nasty and damaging to give us a chance in November.

(1,701 posts)She is proud that her ancestors owned slaves??? That is a political advantage??? What century are we living in?
SCantiGOP
(13,874 posts)Having slaves back then was an accepted practice, they were well treated, bullshit like that.
You can imagine what your target audience is when you are trying to get 51% of the hard core 20% of the GOP in a primary in SC.
Dems have a lock on 40% of the vote; we need good candidates, and radical assholes on the other side, to get that magical 50% plus1. We elected a Dem governor in 1998 and have gotten in the 47-48% range in the last two elections so we need a little of that blue wave to get our young voters out.

(43,364 posts)that they do not understand how common folk perceive their words and actions. They haven't a clue. When he says their behavior is shameful, what students hear is just about what I posted - some version of "stay in your place" and "we are in control". Students don't believe him. This is the arrogance of power, which is a by product of being in power too long. Incumbency becomes a lifestyle and a privilege more than a duty. The GOP is way past it because they do not understand how unpopular their laws and agenda is at this point. They are unaware. This is the stuff of wholesale change, a Blue Wave. Even a few of our own underperformers might get tossed.

(23,166 posts)"This is not about the tragedy, not about what happened at the school. What the freak is he talking about? "These innocent kids are being used by some left wing group", but he has no idea which one. Stupid old man inferring that kids aren't smart enough to do this on their own. He's basically saying that getting shot at and having your friends die is not enough to move these young people to action? How stupid can one old fuck be?
Kids are smart. We knew what was happening when we marched against the Viet Nam war, and this current generation certainly knows that our gun laws are a threat to their lives and want this changed. They are the sensible ones. Protecting assault rifles is what is insane, giving them more value than human lives is totally fucked up as well as insane.

Because you know what? That old smear shit isn't going to wash. Not with most people now.
Not after months and months of lies, just bald-faced lies, from Trump and the rest of the GOP.
People are wising up, and as long as we stay awake and actively resist, those smears won't be working.

Pray.
"What we should all do and what these students should do I imagine a lot of them intend to do is to pray and to hope for the families of those who were slain," McMaster said.
