Steve Bannon, the former White House strategist and ex-chairman of the far-right-leaning Breitbart News, did not deny anything that was written in the book, "Fire and Fury" the controversial Donald Trump expose by Michael Wolff in an interview with French media.
Bannon made the comments in an interview published Wednesday in the right-wing French media outlet, Valeurs Actuelles.
Bannon told Valeurs Actuelles that the book was authorized by the White House and that Hope Hicks, the then-White House communications director, had permitted Wolff to have "total access and to speak to everyone."
"The book has been authorized then I don't deny anything from what is inside," Bannon said, adding that "not even one person" inside the White house had denied anything that was in the book. "The book is what it is. The reader can judge what he reads," Bannon said.

(32,635 posts)...but that was before the Mercers ditched him, so his plans may have changed.
Having read Fire and Fury, I can see why Bannon is OK with it. In that book he's portrayed as one of the few people who were sane and articulate in Cheeto's White House. However Bannon is also a conniving, snarky, double-dealing bastard, so don't get the idea that I admire him.
If by some miracle Trump is not impeached in the next year, I'd say there's a good possibility that Bannon would come back to the White House and work for him again. According to Michael Wolff they had a pretty good working relationship, however Bannon could not abide Jarvanka or the other Trump kiddies. But you know, no sense in making any long-term plans.

(3,011 posts)any republican who speaks against trump is lying or it's fake news. Yes, even if she believed every word out of Bannon 's mouth for years.
She even voted for McCain but sees him as a traitor.
No trump supporter should take comfort in this. She's 83 and suffering from dementia.

(128,924 posts)but that book was predominately done from Bannon's perspective, which is why it tip-toed around criticizing him directly.

(32,635 posts)...Bannon spent more time talking to Michael Wolff than anybody else did.
He was one of the few sane, articulate people in the White House at the time, and he understood the value of chatting up (BS-ing) the man who was writing a book about the Trump White House. Wolff got almost no face-time with Trump, or Kelly or a lot of other people who were neither available nor interested. In addition there was such a high personnel turnover that Wolff didn't get much chance to interview them before they were gone.
As a result Wolff was perhaps kinder to Bannon than anybody else in his book.
