A senior White House official said Monday that there are no plans to fire Robert Mueller, even as President Trump has been ramping up his attacks against the special counsel.
There are no conversations or discussions about removing Mr. Mueller, said deputy press secretary Hogan Gidley.
Still, Gidley acknowledged the presidents well-established frustration with the Justice Departments investigation into whether Trump campaign officials had improper contacts with Moscow.
There has been no collusion, Gidley said. The president believes this is the biggest witch hunt in history, he added.

Hannity: 'Theres not going to be any firing of Mueller'
BY JOE CONCHA - 03/19/18 02:37 PM EDT
Fox News host Sean Hannity said early Monday that "there's not going to be any firing of [Robert] Mueller" while recommending that it would be in the president's best interest "not to comment" on the special counsel's investigation into Russian meddling in the presidential election.
What do you make of Robert Mueller and the suggestion that the president is about to fire him? "Fox & Friends" host Steve Doocy asked Hannity, an openly staunch supporter of President Trump who rarely appears on the network's morning program. You dont think thats a good idea, do you?
"The president didn't say he was going to fire him. This is the fake news media doing what they do best," Hannity replied. "The president made a comment, and maybe if I was advising the president Id say, 'Let this investigation go forward. Were probably coming to the end of it, if I had to render a guess. And it would be in his best interest probably not to comment.
"All the president was saying was, 'This [special counsel investigation] should never have been. This never should have happened,' " Hannity continued before concluding, "I would argue were getting to the end of the process. Theres not going to be any firing of Mueller.

(38,454 posts)Perhaps a number of republican leaders have warned Trump of a constitutional crises if he does fire Mueller. When Jared and some very close advisors are indicted...then we will see if Trump fires Mueller..No one knows what Trump will do. Not even Trump..
