Trump: Saccone 'didn't quite make it'

Source: CNN

Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump said Rick Saccone lost the Pennsylvania special election, despite the fact that he has not yet conceded the race.

-snip-

"It was really close," Trump told the attendees. "We went in there. They were down. Good man, Rick Saccone. Good man. And didn't quite make it. But lost, think of it, lost by about 300 votes out of all of those votes. So, it's pretty incredible. But we can't let it happen. We have to win. There's nothing like winning. We have to win."

Trump then added, "We're 5-0 and then we lost by 300 votes the other night, right? 300 out of 200-twenty-some-odd-thousand votes. 300 votes. And I will tell you, though, that area in Pennsylvania, and all of Pennsylvania, and all other states, they're energized. 'Cause I made a speech there two nights before, and I'll tell you what -- that crowd was -- they were going. They really -- they were happy. They were thrilled. I wish I was running. Man. That was some energetic group."

The current vote tally shows Lamb up by about 700 votes, not 300.

He treats the margins of victory of Democratic opponents the same way he treats his business debts:

First, take off half, and then take some off of that before settling.

When it was his appearances and the anti-trump vote that beat his candidate. The numbers are rapidly growing of anti trump voters , and republicans that will never accept his corruption, his racism, and hatred for so many others, and for all the lying. Congress GOP are in disaster mode seeing the wave coming at them now, for doing nothing to stop trump , and hurting this country with their policies for the wealthy, while hurting the rest of us. This will be a lot worse for them as he's exposed more too.

Someone remind this idiot, that even with the lie about illegals voting, the winning margin would have been a far smaller percentage than 300 (a lie) out of 20,000. One is 1.5%. The other would be zero. (And we know it was really -3%)

This ruby red district that voted for Trump voted against the Republican. Yes it was 300 votes but that was a miracle that it was even that close in this red district.

Conor Lamb's lead grows as special election review continues

Wes Venteicher | Tuesday, March 20, 2018, 4:15 p.m.

Updated 3 hours ago

Democrat Conor Lamb's lead over Republican Rick Saccone grew slightly Tuesday as election staffers from the 18th Congressional District's four counties continued counting batches of remaining votes.

Lamb had a 758-vote lead as of Tuesday afternoon, a week after a special election to replace former U.S. Rep. Tim Murphy in Congress, according to unofficial tallies. That's up from the 627-vote lead that Lamb, 33, of Mt. Lebanon, held the day after the special election.

The updated total includes absentee and provisional ballots, the latter of which are used to record votes when there are questions about a voter's eligibility, along with ballots cast by residents overseas and in the military.

Lamb had 114,097 votes to Saccone's 113,339 and Libertarian Drew Miller's 1,381, unofficial tallies showed.

The military/overseas ballots had to be in by yesterday I think, so they are still counting.
