Tallahassee white supremacist taken away in handcuffs after FBI search

Jordan Jereb was led away in handcuffs from his mother’s Tallahassee home Wednesday after the FBI searched for evidence in connection with misinformation he gave regarding the shooter in last month's Parkland school massacre.

Jereb was arrested on charges of violation of probation by the Florida Department of Corrections Probation office. He was on probation for a 2016 charged of extortion by threats which he pleaded no contest to in December of that year.

After Nikolas Cruz opened fire inside Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Feb. 14, killing 17 people, Jereb said that Cruz had done paramilitary training with the white nationalist group Jereb leads.

The claims set off a media firestorm that Cruz had ties to Jereb's Tallahassee-based Republic of Florida militia. However, the Leon County Sheriff’s Office said it could find no connection between Jereb and Cruz.

Man Arrested for Making Threats Against Governor's Staffer

TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - Deputies have arrested a man accused of making threats against a Rick Scott staffer.

According to court documents, Stuart Pollins contacted the Leon County Sheriff's Office saying he had received harassing voicemails from a man named Jordan Jereb.

Deputies said the voicemails claimed that Pollins' son, 20-year-old Jonathan Vaccaro-Pollins, stole $60 from Jereb and was demanding Pollins pay the money back for his son.

Speed can be a reporter’s best friend in a breaking news situation.

When Jordan Jereb, the white supremacist leader of the militia the Republic of Florida (ROF), claimed that the school shooter in Parkland, Florida, had been a member of his group, speed also proved to be a reporter’s worst enemy.

When multiple news outlets reported Jereb’s words that 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz trained with his group, it took what started as a joke in alt-right forums and injected it into the mainstream media bloodstream.

For some on the alt-right, particularly the trolls who would rather fight for “the lulz” than the supremacy of the white race, Jereb’s claim of credit has been a much-celebrated moment of duping the mainstream media.

Others on the far-right took the bait themselves. Noted troll Andrew Anglin ran with the notion that Cruz was affiliated with Jereb and ROF and paid particular attention to Jereb’s apparent espousal of iconography associated with the violence-prone neo-Nazi group Atomwaffen Division.
