White House confident Trump will sign omnibus despite veto threat

Source: The Hill

BY JULIEGRACE BRUFKE - 03/23/18 11:15 AM EDT

White House officials are confident President Trump will sign the $1.3 trillion omnibus approved by Congress despite his surprise threat via Twitter to veto the bill.

“I think we’ll be OK,” White House Director of Legislative Affairs Marc Short told CNN.

Another official said the White House believes that Trump will ultimately sign the legislation. “I think he just wanted to add a little drama,” the administration source told The Hill. “Everyone here is confident he'll sign it when it arrives at the White House.”

The legislation was approved easily in separate votes in the House on Thursday and the Senate early Friday morning, and Trump had earlier expressed support for the measure.

And he doesn't care about them one way or the other.

He doesn't actually care about anything policy-wise.

Tillerson makes statement about russia - fired
mcMaster makes statement about russia - fired
Everything they did during the campaign was about lifting sanctions
Its the major point of his presidency

He fired them because he doesn't like their personalities and doesn't think they are 100 percent loyal or supportive enough of him. It's all about him and everybody stroking his ego.

Bolton and Pompeo are both more anti-Russia than Tillerson and McMaster, by the way. Bolton, in particular.

You're talking about a quote from a five year old video, circa 2013.

Bolton is extremely hawkish on Russia. Watch any video of him talking about Russia on Fox (as he often has) over the last ten years.

And he doesn't like the idea of people believing he only won the election because of Russia.

He doesn't actually care policy-wise about anything. He cares about how he looks, how he is perceived, how he is praised.

The WHITE HOUSE is confident there will be no veto when the guy who supposedly runs the WHITE HOUSE is the one threatening a veto.

The only way to truly understand TRUMP, I am convinced, is to think of his presidency as just another reality show.
