You should do it. Trump officials encouraged George Papadopouloss foreign outreach, documents show.

When a Russian news agency reached out to George Papadopoulos to request an interview shortly before the 2016 election, the young adviser to then-candidate Donald Trump made sure to seek approval from campaign headquarters.
You should do it, deputy communications director Bryan Lanza urged Papadopoulos in a September 2016 email, emphasizing the benefits of a U.S. partnership with Russia.
The exchange was a sign that Papadopoulos who pushed the Trump operation to meet with Russian officials had the campaigns blessing for some of his foreign outreach.
Since Papadopoulos pleaded guilty last year to lying to the FBI about his Russia contacts during the campaign and agreed to cooperate with special counsel Robert S. Mueller III, Trump officials have sought to paint the 30-year old energy consultant as a low level volunteer whose outreach to Russia was not authorized by the campaign and in some cases, was actively discouraged.

(35,300 posts)The way the story structures the syntax "it" is "the interview." Which would be truly horrendous, a US presidential candidate or his aide giving an interview to a foreign-owned news station.
In February 2016 Bernie Sanders was interviewed by RT. So was Trump 9 months later. I don't think HRC was interviewed by RT.

(3,515 posts)plus Russia's support for right-wing candidates in, for example, France and maybe the Netherlands plus, plus, plus, plus, plus.
It is a thick plot, and it may not be thick enough to stand up in court, but there is really a lot of "there" there. We shall see.
This is my opinion based on what I read in the press and see on TV and read here.
I'm not betting on anything, but there seems to be a lot of "this" and some of "that" and when you have a conspiracy, the "thises" and the "thats" put together can make a very cohesive -- conspiracy.
The theft and publication of the e-mails is the big problem for Trump here.
And even if someone from the DNC gave the e-mails in some way to Julian Assange and/or the Russians, it was theft.
Taking e-mails from a private party like the DNC is very different from exposing information that belongs to a government that is ultimately "owned" by the people of the country.
They are not the same thing at all. The e-mail theft was a crime no matter who did it.
Mueller probably has a lot of factual information we cannot imagine even existing.
The fact that Trump changed his legal team after receiving the questions from Mueller to a team that is loved by many if not all Fox viewers -- his base -- indicates desperation.
That's my take now. I could change my mind.
But "this" is a lot.
